A woofing good time!

Rascal

I wrote a post about my sister, Gizmo, so I thought it was about time I wrote a post about my brother, Rascal. He is a funny creature. I just can’t work him out! While I bonded with my sister, me and Rascal just don’t seem to get on. He never came in mum’s room that often, and he either hissed at me, attacked me or ran away when we met. I tried to leave him alone really. He is super cute though!

Beautiful!

Rascal is 5 years old and will be 6 in September. Mum got him when he was a kitten from a special breeder. You see, unlike Gizmo, Rascal is a proper pure bred cat – a ragdoll cat. The ragdoll breed started in North America in the 80’s. They are called ragdoll cats because when you pick them up, their arms and legs go all floppy like a ragdoll! If you try to pick up Gizmo, she will scratch you, but Rascal goes all limp!

Anyway, Rascal came from a top breeder in the area. As I mentioned before, his twin brother is a celebrity! He is one of the Blue Peter cats, Socks. They are identical twins, although Socks is a bit bigger than Rascal and slightly less good looking 😉 The other Blue Peter cat, Cookie, is from the same breeder and therefore one of Rascal’s many cousins. Socks has lived quite the celebrity lifestyle, meeting one or two famous people!

Rascal also had another litter brother who was not identical. Rascal’s specific breed is a blue mitted ragdoll, whereas his other brother had different markings. Still cute though! Rascal also has a fancy name – his proper name on his birth certificate is Cheham Big Brother – Cheham for the breeders name, and Big Brother because he was the older twin of his famous sibling.

He has always been a curious little lad. From day one of mum having him, he didn’t like to be stroked or cuddled, instead preferring to be alone. He makes very odd noises when he needs the toilet, like a strangled meow. Then he makes a mad dart to the toilet, which he has indoors. Rascal is not allowed outside you see – apparently the breed are a bit dippy when it comes to road safety and the like… he hates outdoors anyway, the wind confuses him!

Rascal also LOVES bubbles. If you blow bubbles at him, he really enjoys chasing them and popping them, and will make a little “nnngnaat” sound in confusion. He also loves to jump up onto a bed and knead the covers whilst purring. His purr is a quiet whirr.

Content lad

You can often find him tucked away under something or inside a box. He loves being inside small spaces and will always seek them out. He also really, really, really loves being groomed. This includes being vacuumed – he will roll onto his back and splay out his arms and legs in order for his tummy to be vacuumed!

Mum calls him emo cat. He is very moody and sullen and will always choose to be on his own in a confined space. But really, I think he’s just smart and likes to ponder the world by himself. He really is the best looking cat in the world, with his sky blue eyes and soft cotton wool fur. Every single person who has ever met him has fallen straight in love with him and thought he was the perfect teddy bear. I agree, but it doesn’t mean I have to like him!

Even Gizmo has a soft spot for Rascal ❤

But I suppose I do love him, he’s my brother afterall. 🙂

I miss my brother!!

OH – and also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIZMO! My big sister is 14 today. I miss you as well Gizmo! xxx
