A woofing good time!

Belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

HAI! (woof)

I hope you all had a great christmas! Mine was AMAZING. I will tell you all about it, but first I have something really, really exciting to show you. Earlier this year, mum entered me into a competition for Pets at Home (my favouritest shop ever) and get this, I actually WON!! Mum sent in the clip of me having fun with sticks in the forest (see earlier post in 2012) and well, they loved it. A small part of the clip was used in the advert they showed on tv – watch for me doing my acrobatics at 1.28 in this video!

I got a whole load of vouchers for winning, so mum bought me some stuff including this totally sweet purple hoop:

I like to wear it as a necklace

I like to wear it as a necklace

So anyway. Christmas. I went to stay at Grandad’s house waaaay up North for a whole week! When I got out the car, the first thing I did was take a really big sniff of all the outdoors smells and it was so nice. Then I wagged my tail really hard and ran around like a lunatic until I got yelled at (standard protocol).

Then, I saw my favourite big bro, Rascal! He has a special antique seat he likes to sit on at Grandad’s house and it’s called a commode. You can lift up the lid and then there is this really cosy little hole that you can climb into. I’m so jealous, but it’s a bit small for me! I don’t have a photo of that, but here is a photo of the lad in all his beauty for you to enjoy:

Aw I guess he's tired from all the chasing games I've been trying to play with him

Aw I guess he’s tired from all the chasing games I tried to play with him

I got to spend time with some of my favourite people – I saw Uncle Dan, Auntie Skye, Step-grandma Janice and some of her family! Everybody gave me so many scratchies but I did get yelled at quite a lot for being silly sometimes 😦

The best part of all – I GOT SO MANY COOL STUFFS!!!! Check out me with my christmas spoils:

omggggg

omggggg

I got a festive piglet, a kong wubba, a giant piggie and a giant cow! THEY ALL SQUEAK

So, anyway… after all the fun of christmas, all the smells and flavours and nice people cuddling me, it was time to go. We had to get back home to wish Dad 2 a merry christmas! For christmas I gave him a big lick and snorted on his face. He loved it.

Well, that’s all for now. Enjoy your new year’s eve/day and also this picture of me when I got my festive piglet 😀

I’M BACK!!!

Well, well, well… what do we have here? Oh, it’s me 😀 Hi!

I'm ready to type!

I’m ready to type!

I am so sorry to have left you for so long. It’s been emotional for me too! As I may have mentioned before, I originally only wrote this blog because of mum’s uni. And I am really happy to tell you guys that mum has finished uni!! After a whopping 3 years (it was supposed to be one year :/ ) she did it and now she has all the time in the world for giving me ear scratchies and taking me to all the corners of the world.

Actually – to one corner in particular….we moved AGAIN last year and now we permanently live in Bournemouth! You may remember I wrote about visiting Dad 2 in Bournemouth before and put up a video of me woofing around in the sea. Now we get to do that on a regular basis because we actually live only 5 minutes away from the sea!

Anyway, as I was saying… I…well, I really like dentastix and jumbones! Oh.. and also, now mum has finished uni she has decided to follow her passion for writing and is doing her own blog. I hear it’s quite good really but I haven’t had a chance yet to read it. And so since she is doing hers on whatever, I wanted to join in and continue mine!

SO, I don’t want to bore you with my hello’s and welcome back’s. I will be posting on some topical and some personal things soon… so keep reading, (re-read some old posts of mine if I get distracted by my christmas festive piggy I am told I am getting) and see you again soon! 😀

Welcome back

Hello readers! After gentle persuasion from Uncle Dan I have decided to post again. Mum is really busy working these days so the computer is often left off during the day so I can’t post… but today she is not working (hurrah!) and has allowed me to use her laptop.

I’ll update you on a few things first. I am no longer living in the flat with mum and daunty. Things just didn’t work out… there were a lot of problems there and now we are back with grandad until he sells the house, then we will be moving on again. I’m kind of glad because it means I get to spend more time with grandad and Rascal. You may have noticed I didn’t include Gizmo. Very, very sadly Gizmo died earlier this year, not long after I posted about her. She was still as chipper as a young kitten but we think she may have had a brain tumour because she found walking in a straight line and jumping difficult. We were all very sad for a long time, but are beginning to move on. There were only so many tears we could shed!

Getting used to life without Gizmo here was horrible at first. I missed me, mum and her sleeping together on our bed, and the sound of her loud purring lulling us into sleep. Rascal however has come into his own now. Mum and grandad began letting him explore outside, because when he moves house with grandad he will be living with two other outdoor cats and we needed to train him up! He absolutely loved it at first and was outside for hours at a time exploring and making friends (or enemies!) with other cats in the neighbourhood. But as the weather has turned colder over the last couple of months, he prefers to curl up near the radiator. He has become a little friendlier lately as he is king of the house again, but can still be mean to me sometimes!

Well, Christmas is coming up in a few weeks. I am SO EXCITED. I love the christmas tree and the fact that I get to eat a bit of turkey!! It’s one of my favourites! Mum might even get me a bone for a present! I am also hoping for a few other things… maybe some new toys!! OHH I just can’t wait!

In other exciting news, I might be getting a cousin very soon!!! Uncle Dan and auntie Skye want to get a dog of their own, something called a french bulldog. They have very squishy faces and bat ears just like me! I am so looking forward to having a cousin to go walkies with and play with. It’s going to be so much fun!

Anyway, my paws are super tired after all this updating. I’ll leave you with a video of me after going for walkies at the beach in Bournemouth on a very cold and wet day. Something very strange happened to me. Check it out! (featuring weird noise at the end of the vid sounding like a sheep!)

Bye guys 🙂

It's time for my nap, I'm exhausted!

Rascal

I wrote a post about my sister, Gizmo, so I thought it was about time I wrote a post about my brother, Rascal. He is a funny creature. I just can’t work him out! While I bonded with my sister, me and Rascal just don’t seem to get on. He never came in mum’s room that often, and he either hissed at me, attacked me or ran away when we met. I tried to leave him alone really. He is super cute though!

Beautiful!

Rascal is 5 years old and will be 6 in September. Mum got him when he was a kitten from a special breeder. You see, unlike Gizmo, Rascal is a proper pure bred cat – a ragdoll cat. The ragdoll breed started in North America in the 80’s. They are called ragdoll cats because when you pick them up, their arms and legs go all floppy like a ragdoll! If you try to pick up Gizmo, she will scratch you, but Rascal goes all limp!

Rascal at 5 months old

Anyway, Rascal came from a top breeder in the area. As I mentioned before, his twin brother is a celebrity! He is one of the Blue Peter cats, Socks. They are identical twins, although Socks is a bit bigger than Rascal and slightly less good looking 😉 The other Blue Peter cat, Cookie, is from the same breeder and therefore one of Rascal’s many cousins. Socks has lived quite the celebrity lifestyle, meeting one or two famous people!

Socks with Stingray from Neighbours… hardcore fans will remember him!

Rascal also had another litter brother who was not identical. Rascal’s specific breed is a blue mitted ragdoll, whereas his other brother had different markings. Still cute though! Rascal also has a fancy name – his proper name on his birth certificate is Cheham Big Brother – Cheham for the breeders name, and Big Brother because he was the older twin of his famous sibling.

He has always been a curious little lad. From day one of mum having him, he didn’t like to be stroked or cuddled, instead preferring to be alone. He makes very odd noises when he needs the toilet, like a strangled meow. Then he makes a mad dart to the toilet, which he has indoors. Rascal is not allowed outside you see – apparently the breed are a bit dippy when it comes to road safety and the like… he hates outdoors anyway, the wind confuses him!

Rascal also LOVES bubbles. If you blow bubbles at him, he really enjoys chasing them and popping them, and will make a little “nnngnaat” sound in confusion. He also loves to jump up onto a bed and knead the covers whilst purring. His purr is a quiet whirr.

Content lad

You can often find him tucked away under something or inside a box. He loves being inside small spaces and will always seek them out. He also really, really, really loves being groomed. This includes being vacuumed – he will roll onto his back and splay out his arms and legs in order for his tummy to be vacuumed!

Rascal steering the HMS Meow away from an iceberg

Mum calls him emo cat. He is very moody and sullen and will always choose to be on his own in a confined space. But really, I think he’s just smart and likes to ponder the world by himself. He really is the best looking cat in the world, with his sky blue eyes and soft cotton wool fur. Every single person who has ever met him has fallen straight in love with him and thought he was the perfect teddy bear. I agree, but it doesn’t mean I have to like him!

Even Gizmo has a soft spot for Rascal ❤

But I suppose I do love him, he’s my brother afterall. 🙂

I miss my brother!!

OH – and also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIZMO! My big sister is 14 today. I miss you as well Gizmo! xxx

Updates

Oh hai! I am back 🙂 I have sooooo much to tell you. As you know, I was moving house. Me, mum and daunty have now moved all of our stuff into our new flat. I LOVE it!! Daunty is so much fun. Mum calls her faunty sometimes because she is the fun aunt. And she finds it really funny because it kind of sounds like fart. Mum can be really immature sometimes…..!

Anyway, the new flat is brilliant. It really big and it has all sorts of new smells for me to check out. At the moment it’s quite cold in there because mum and daunty don’t want to pay for heating. I can’t wait for summer! The best part about the flat is that it is a minutes walk away from a giant field. I have met so many new dogs and I am absolutely loving it.

Me sniffing out the new park

I had an AMAZING treat this weekend. Marley came for a sleepover!!! We get on so well, I have really found my soulmate. Everywhere I go, he goes too. Everywhere he goes, I go too. We snuggled up together in my basket too, and at one point we both gave mum a really nice cuddle together. I really miss him 😦

Me and marleybone :*

Another update I have for you is not so great. I came into heat today 😦 Mum put me in the bath immediately and then put these horrible things on me…. she calls them knickers. They are really uncomfortable and I want them off. I am shaking with indignity right now 😦

I WANT THEM OFF NOW

OH! I totally forgot to mention, I had a visit back to Bournemouth where I used to live! It was so fun. I saw dad 2 and we went to the beach. It wasn’t the main beach near the town centre, but we caught a ferry from Sandbanks over to Studland and went to a more secluded beach. I splashed about in the sea and had a little swim. I really enjoyed myself and I can’t wait to visit again.

Anyway… I’m not at our new home right now, me and mum came home for a visit to see grandad so I am really worn out from all the excitement and I need to go to bed. Hopefully these stupid knickers will fall off in my sleep or something  >:|

Moving house

Sorry I haven’t been around as much lately readers. Mum’s been organising a change of living place for us! Tomorrow we are moving to a new flat from this house. It is quite scary for me but I am super excited. Unfortunately we won’t have the internet for a while so I won’t be posting… but stay tuned and I’ll be back as soon as I can. :o)

Gizmo

Today I’m going to tell you all about my big sister, Gizmo. As you may have gathered, over the past 3 months I’ve gotten to know her quite well. At first, I HATED her with a passion! Mum always gave her scratchies and I would get really jealous. I attacked her a couple of times, but I got a swift tap to the nose from mum and didn’t try any funny business again. I respect Gizmo’s space now. In fact, we get on pretty well. She sleeps on the bed with us sometimes and I actually look up to her… I heard her purring loudly and sometimes I try to copy the noise, using a light growl. Also, she jumps up the side of the sofa – she’s really agile – and when I see her do it, I copy! (and usually fall down as I am NOT agile…)

Aww... for me?

Now, about Gizmo’s life… she is 13 years old, and turning 14 on the 9th of May. She is considered old for a cat, but she is very young for her age. She runs as fast as the wind and still brings home rats, frogs and birds that she kills on occasion (ew).

Gizmo relaxes in the grass

Mum got her when she was a kitten from a farm… like me!! Mum said that there were peacocks, chickens, dogs and other cats on this farm. Gizmo settled in just fine here when she first came home. She was super playful and the loudest purrer of any cat mum had ever heard.

Gizmo playing as a kitten

It was uncle Dan’s choice to name her Gizmo. Cute… but not exactly original! She was a bit of a moody cat as she grew older, and didn’t spend much time around mum. In fact, mum didn’t see much of her at all! But eventually, 5 years ago mum got Rascal, and miraculously Gizmo’s personality changed. She became a very sweet and loving cat, anxious to spend as much time with mum as possible. She slept on mum’s bed every night until I came along!

It's a good life

Gizmo is a very feisty girl, and will scratch or bite you if she feels the need. Her claws are very sharp, I’ve been on the receiving end of them a few times. Sometimes you will find her up a tree, sometimes sleeping on mum’s car. She likes to change things up a lot.

I have to admit, she is pretty cute

Now, after a rocky start with me, Gizmo is happy and settled. I really like her now, she’s my best friend after mum.

And that’s pretty much everything I know about Gizmo 🙂

P.S. Happy mother’s day mum! And especially to mum’s mum, my grandma, who I never got to meet. It was her birthday on the 18th March so happy birthday and happy mother’s day to her, and I wish I could have met her. She sounds great.

I’m in trouble :(

I spent most of the morning in my basket today. I was really naughty. I had finished chewing up all of my toys (my bones, tennis balls and rope) so I took mum’s socks and knickers and made a start on them. She was SO angry! I ruined quite a lot of stuff 😦 I didn’t mean to, I just got really excited and like chewing. You see, mum lets me put her things in my basket to keep me company when she goes out, so I just didn’t think twice about chewing them as well when I had run out of toys.

Me after I'd finished destroying my soft bone toy

Silly I know. Mum says I am in disgrace. Anyway, after a few hours mum let me out of the basket and gave me a cuddle. We went on a walk to the pet shop to buy a new toy for me so I don’t do it again. The lady in the pet shop said I was beautiful! I like her. She also told mum that it’s probably because I’m about to come onto heat that I’ve been so naughty.

Anyway, I got a really cool purple squeaky toy and I just trialled it out in the garden – it’s brilliant! Mum got me to hold onto one end with my teeth and then she swung me around in the air, I loved it!

Fun weekend walkies

I had a really fun weekend. On Saturday, I went to the park with mum, uncle Dan and Auntie Skye. I met loads of dogs, it was brilliant! Following on from my last post about odd looking dogs, I met two rather strange dogs at the park…

It is just a ball of fluff with a tongue, nothing more!

It had a brother or sister too, and they were such funny dogs… they wouldn’t listen to their owner and waddled around aimlessly. Very cute though. There was a whole range of fluffy dogs that day too, in the end they had a little party in front of the lake! I felt a bit left out as I’m not fluffy but I tried to join in a little bit, I ran around the back!:

Not sure what fluffball #1 is doing there... :/

It all looked a bit weird though, too much fluff and not enough playing. So in the end, the biggest fluffball and me played chase with my stick which was great fun.

It's MY stick!!

On Sunday we went to see Daunty and went on a walk around the football field with her. I met a GIANT fluffball that day but unfortunately mum forgot to take a photo. Anyway, it just goes to show, you can meet dogs of all shapes, sizes and weirdness when you are out and about!

The weird and wonderful… or just weird

When I go for walkies each day, I see a wide variety of different dogs. All shapes and sizes, boys, girls, all ages. Usually they look like the kind of dogs I might like to hang out with or chase a stick with. But sometimes they are just so weird looking!

The usual kinds of dogs we see are staffies, collies, spaniels, terriers and mixed breed. But sometimes…… :O

Pantene advert fodder

What IS that I hear you cry?! Why, it’s an afghan hound! It looks ridiculous I know. More hair than my mum, sister and brother combined. I know mum would feel like a right idiot walking that oddity around.

but... it....huh?!

This little darling is a xoloitzcuintli. It is hairless and um… kinda looks like a zebra. I have never seen one of these on walkies before but I would sure like to!

reminds me of dougal from the magic roundabout. not that im old enough to have seen that. but you know, i must have heard it around or something.... :/

I don’t understand how this dog sees. I mean, it’s clearly a very cool dog with its dreads and all, but what if you are jumping for a stick? Well……

Oh! Cute!

Right… I see! Or rather, it sees! The dreads fly out of the way, enabling it to see the stick clearly. I’m not saying I want dreads, but I guess it’s not as impractical as I thought. This breed is called a puli, by the way. It’s like a flying bubble! There are also loads of other cute flying bubble pictures of puli’s if you google search… I would love to post them all but I don’t want to bore you 🙂

I have no words.

What the mother F?! It looks like a sheep! And what on earth has this dogs owner done to its ears….It’s like some kind of slipper boot with pom poms. Hm, maybe mum would like that for christmas… Oh, anyway, this is a bedlington terrier. Very odd.

Somebody get this poor dog a brush!! Stat!

This bergamasco is a very knotted dog. Its fur has completely matted itself into weird clumps. I can’t imagine stroking this dog is very soft… and it probably smells a bit too… Hmm… maybe clippers for it’s birthday?

arggggh!

Okay, this dog has CLEARLY been skipping it’s botox sessions. I think it has gone too far, definitely time for a face lift…. This neopolitan mastiff is only 7 years old…. This is just how “quirky” they actually look! Yikes!

Um... maybe it's time for a face lift/tummy tuck/foot tuck/tail tuck?!

This little shar pei seems to be suffering from the same saggy skin issue as the neopolitan mastiff. It is kind of cute though I guess.. in a really wrinkly way.

Wow…. so…. there really is a whole ton of different dogs out there. I wonder where they all are? I suddenely feel really cute, like I’m the winner of America’s Next Top Doggie or something…

Me and gizmo mulling it all over.
